CAHPR is supported by 14 AHP organisations enabling the professions to speak with one voice on research issues. CAHPR collaborates with a number of partner organisations to enable research activity and strengthen the profile of AHP research.

CAHPR Partner organisations

CAHPR is actively working on projects/activities with the following organisations:

NIHR and CAHPR have set up a network of AHP research champions to encourage awareness of and involvement in AHP research. The AHP research champion scheme covers all 15 local clinical research network areas in England.  The champions come from eight different allied health professions and are working with their local CAHPR hubs and Local Clinical Research Networks.

Public Health England work with CAHPR to support AHP public health research through the CAHPR Public Health England Research Awards. The awards were established in 2015 to support early career researchers by offering a chance to display their poster at the Public Health England Conference.

AHPs4PH is a community of interest for AHPs and their teams. It is a place to share information, develop your networks and ultimately help improve the health of the public. AHPS4PH supported the CAHPR Public Health Research Awards in 2019.

CAHPR partners with the Council of Deans of Health on policy matters affecting AHP researchers. These include joint consultation responses and work on Clinical Academic Careers Development group, hosted by the Council of Deans since 2018.  The group have published a practical resource for healthcare provider organisations, Transforming Healthcare Through Clinical Academic Roles, which can be downloaded below.
