Introduction to Qualitative Methods

Please join us for this webinar run by CAHPR Oxfordshire. The session will be led by Dr Francine Toye from the Physiotherapy Research Unit at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC), Oxford. Francine studied archaeology and anthropology at the University of Cambridge and has more than 20 years post-doctoral experience in qualitative research.  She is an invited lecturer for Medical Sciences Division and Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School at the University of Oxford. Francine leads the qualitative research programme at the NOC, Physiotherapy Research Unit. She is also a qualified physiotherapist.

Francine will:

1.            Explore why we should bother with qualitative research.

2.            Unpick some of the qualitative research myths and “isms”.

3.            Give a brief overview of key methods.

4.            Present findings from some recent qualitative studies.
