The NIHR Incubator for Emergency Care Research: supporting professionals with an interest in Emergency Care Research
The NIHR Incubator for Emergency Care Research was established in 2019. The purpose of the group is to support clinicians with an interest in Emergency Care Research. It is aimed at early through to late stage researchers, and now has over 250 members across the UK. There are very few AHP members however, despite its multi-disciplinary remit. The aims of the incubator are to:
- Stimulate and inspire those currently working or aspiring to work in this field to pursue academic careers and,
- Enhance the opportunities for those pursuing academic careers in the field of EC by signposting to relevant training opportunities and mentorship.
As such, the Incubator and its community of practice welcomes all those who wish to pursue clinical academic careers in emergency care, as well as those who support and mentor researchers in this field. The group holds regular free online webinars, has an up to date mentorship database that is accessible to all members, and holds an annual two-day Research Symposium.
Consultant Respiratory Physiotherapist Ceri Battle is the AHP representative on the group, and she is trying to promote it within the AHP community. This is a great opportunity for free peer support and mentorship. Please feel free to visit the webpage for the incubator on the link below, or contact Ceri directly.
