CAHPR will be working with National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network on an exciting new AHP Research Champions project over the next year.
NIHR CRN recently developed a Strategy for AHPs in Research 2017-2020. This outlines 5 goals to support AHPs working with, and for, the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN). CAHPR has been a key partner in developing the strategy.
Both organisations have identified a great deal of common ground. Specifically, valuing the development of communities of practice, the use and evaluation of coaching /mentoring schemes to develop capacity and capability, and being proactive in raising awareness of the benefits of research across the professions and to patients and the public.
To encourage local engagement CAHPR and NIHR CRN will be working together to develop AHP Research Champions, across each of the Local Clinical Research Network geographies and managed in partnership with CAHPR to assist with local engagement and delivery.
