CAHPR Activity Report 2019 published

The Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) activity report provides a summary of activities undertaken by CAHPR in 2019.

2019 was the fifth year since CAHPR was established and the organisation continues to make positive progress towards its aims. New initiatives and resources, such as three new titles in the CAHPR ‘top tips’ series and the Research Practitioner’s Competency Framework were developed in collaboration with partner organisations and individual subject experts.

CAHPR’s hub network has continued to support AHP research capacity and capability in 2019 through events, one to one support and links with stakeholder organisations. In 2019, hubs reported case examples of how support from CAHPR has helped AHP researchers’ career development, for example hub bursary and small grant winners have progressed to successfully apply to major studentships.

CAHPR’s support team and wide network of volunteers have made considerable progress towards its mission in the last five years, with an increase in collaborative initiatives in 2019. There are however challenges, with much work being done on a voluntary basis. A review of CAHPR is scheduled in late 2020, to ensure CAHPR can provide optimal support to enable it to build research capacity and capability within the allied health professions.
